This organisation establishes a strategic development plan for youth arts and arts in education within Swindon. we are a member of the steering committee of Artsmad, and also a key partner in the successful £1.3 million Invest to Save DCMS action research project.
W&SAA is a united voice for the arts in Wiltshire and Swindon. It provides a strategic overview and co-ordinating mechanism, adding value to artistic organisations and infrastructures.
As an approved manager, we work with this body that advocate on behalf of 600 arts organisations and develops best working practices for managing the arts.
We are members of TYA England and are represented on the steering group. This role of this organisation is to advocate for theatre for young audiences to be an entitlement for children throughout the world, act as YPT think-tank and as local and national ambassadors for the YPT sector. We lead on developing a 3 year Development Plan for TYA UK.
The Drama and Theatre Manifesto recognizes a common sense of purpose and a shared belief in the contribution drama and theatre makes to the quality of children’s lives in school and beyond. It is a call to action to young people, parents, teachers and theatre practitioners to unify their efforts and ensure that young people have access to drama and theatre. Click here to find out more.
